Attorneys are welcome

The following events occurred at LaSalle National Bank at LaSalle and Monroe from August 18, 1997 to the Present. This happened to a disabled person. These are the fact, but the names have been changed incase more action is required.

1. On 8/18/97 a large amount of money was wired into my checking account by X.

I called my attorney to ask what I should do if this money was an error and if the money could be used for investments until I determine what the error is, or what purpose the money was suppose to be used for. He told me to leave the money in my account.

2. I had known several persons by that name when I was on national and state boards for disabled persons. I believed that this was a donation to help me with my work with disabled persons. I tried to find Mr. Lewis to thank him, and I wanted to know how he wanted me to use this donation. I was unable to find an address or phone number. I decided that he didn't want to be contacted.

3. I talked to my attorney on 8/28/97 concerning my will. He was very concerned about the disagreement I had with my mother and brother. He told me that if I was sure the money was mine, I should talk to several banks about how to invest the money. He told me to deposit some money in different banks. I told him I would write the bank again asking for my balance.

4. I waited 3 ½ weeks before withdrawing any money. I kept calling and faxing the bank to get a current balance, and I obtained a printout from 8/4/97 to 8/26/97. When I received my monthly bank statement showing the amount was current, I decided to take my attorney's advice and put some money into different banks. I contacted 2 banks to obtain advice on how to invest the money.

5. On 9/12/97 got a letter from my attorney stating that my brother wrote him a letter stating that I accused him of trying to take my name off the deed so he could have the house when my mother died. He said I had enough money to live on my own and I should stop blaming my mother's attorney for not contacting me. My brother called my attorney on 9/10. I am afraid my attorney told my brother about my money and they are trying to take the money and put it into a false account for my brother's children.

5a. On 9/11/97 at about 3pm Ms. X, my bank representative, called on my answering machine in my office asking me to call her concerning my checking account. When I returned her call on 9/12/97 AT 9:30AM she informed me that they made an error and withdrew all funds from my account (my payroll check is a direct deposit and was also withdrawn without my knowledge). I sent her a fax asking for a written conformation of the error, and the address of Mr. Lewis. I also sent her a fax of the wire transaction. I was on my way to the bank to talk with the president, but my building had a blackout and I could not get to the first floor. I will try to meet the president Monday. Damage was done to my financial status. The bank withdrew money from my business and other accounts without my knowledge. Thus, unless I can have time to put my banks accounts in order, my business plans will greatly suffer

6. Money was put back into my personal account, but is frozen. I do not know how much money was withdrawn, or put back into my business account.

7. On 9/15/97 I talked to the president if the bank. I told the V.P. to call the person that wired the money and make sure that its not my money. Mr. X memo of 9/16/97 doesn't have the itemized amount that was withdrawn. The wire transfer that he sent with the memo doesn't have a signature and doesn't have the both names on the top of the transfer. X could be a nick-name of my N. Parts of the wire have been covered. The name 'Hoffman Management' appears at the top. Mr. X told me to keep this between us and only talk to him or X. I told him that unless he can show me on paper that Mr. Lewis, or his firm did not want me to have the money, I will return it and setup a loan or credit line.

8. On 9/23/97 Mike from LaSalle bank called to say my business account was overdrawn. I asked them to transfer $2,000 from my personal account. He said that he would fax me a conformation. I called MX to make sure there were not any problems. There were none. I asked if I should fax him a memo asking for a transfer. He said none were needed. On 9/26/97 I received a overdraft notice that my business account was overdrawn by $266.85. I don't know how much I have in my accounts, or if I am able to pay any bills. This is putting a very bad image on my name and on my business.

9. I receive a wire statement on 9/24/97 that LaSalle wired $1,115,000.00 from my personal account on 9/11/97 leaving me a debit in my personal account. I hove more money in my account than I did before the wire deposit, so I think another bank error was made.

10. On 10/2/97 X called and said their wire department was having trouble getting their money back. When I asked where the problem was, she would not tell me.

11. On 10/3/97 I received a letter in the mail from Julie O'Connor, an attorney for LaSalle bank stating that I must pay back the money by 10/3/97, or else legal action will be taken. She said the bank contacted several banks on 3 separate days and they would not release the money. I called each bank, and learned LaSalle only contacted them 1 time. She stated I must stop contacting M. D called to ask if I received the letter. I called the U.S, Comptroller of currency, and they didn't receive the reports from the bank that they need for investigation. They suggested that I hire an attorney.

12. K has not responded to my faxes. He works for ZXX, Inc. in the 703 telephone area code. This is a private real estate firm in VA. Someone may be trying to cover up the money. I believe that if an error was made, they would have called within several days. I would like a list of all employees and directors of this company. I know many people in this area that own and management real estate.

12. I faxed M, X and Y that I have retained an attorney.

13. On 10/7 My attorney told me that the bank can prove that they made an error, and my attorney wants me to setup a re-payment plan. I called CXX Management, Inc. At 999--00 and they said they are part of the U.S. Government. Why would they wire into a private account? Should I re-pay the money before you are done with your investigation?

14. On 11/14/97 I called X at CXX ask if he wired money to LaSalle. He told me he would file criminal charges if I call again.

15. On 11/14/97 I called LaSalle Bank and asked for the balance in YZ account. She said there was no such account. She asked for no ID.

16. During December I ask my attorney to work out a payment plan with the bank and its attorney. I told him that I could pay $50,000 to $80,000 back now and $30,000 per year because I had to make sure my business would continue to operate. My employee was now disabled , and I must make sure that she will always have as job with the company and that her insurance is paid.

17. My attorney told me on 1/10/98 to pay the bank $150,000 by 1/16/98 and that if I did, the bank would let me on a payment plan. I asked my attorney to let me come to the hearing so that I could explain what the bank did.

18. On 1/16/98 I paid LaSalle bank $150,000, and my attorney faxed me an agreement for me to sign stating that I would pay back more than $10,000 per month. I never signed the settlement agreement because:

1. I disagree with the balance that you say I owe.

2.. I disagree with the paragraph stating that I must not talk to anyone about the LaSalle Bank error.

On 2/16/98 I paid more than $10,000 back to LaSalle Bank to try to meet their plan. No deposit slip was ever mailed. I told LaSalle and my attorney.

On 3/16/99 I paid more then $9,000 to LaSalle. No deposit slip was mailed to me. I paid less during May through June. No deposit slip was supplied.

19. The amount that LaSalles attorney stated in your memo of July 31, 1998 is in error. The bank never sent me statements of how much I repaid from January 1998 until now.. The bank, and my attorney never honored my request of giving me a statement on how much money was withdrawn and deposited in my account by the bank's error (if it all was an error).

6. I was very dispensed by the way LaSalle bank treated me on September 20, 1997. The employees of the bank told me not to tell anyone about the error, and pay what they say.

  20. I told you and my attorney in January 1998 that my finances would not be enough to repay all the monthly payments that you requested. I am willing to talk to you about a reasonable repayment plan.

21. On 8/1/98. I demand that you send me an itemized statement of my account from August 1, 1997 to September 30, 1997. I want to know where and to whom the money was deposited and withdrawn from my account (some were without my knowledge). If this statement is not provided me, and if the statement does not show the current amount that you say I owe), I will not repay any more money.

21a. I tried to get a loan from American Express and was told that I had an $264,000 judgment against my name. This was the first time I knew what a judgment was about and for how much. My attorney told me they may do this, but I didn't understand it. I thought that when I paid the lump sum, this would not happen.

21b.. On 12/2/99 I asked my brother and mother for a loan, and told them everything. My mother told me that she knew about the bank because they left a message on my answering machine. I heard my brother tell my mom on 11/23/99 or there about that I had a judgment and owe $100,000.

21c. On 12/15/98 I asked an attorney to ask the bank to give me a new loan and they could keep 50% to pay what they say I owe them. No answer was returned. My business was not making enough profit, and I was in debt on my credit cards and rent.

22. On 1/10/99 I went to LaSalle to try to talk to them about a loan. I do not have an attorney at this time. No one but my bank rep knew about the error The secretary told the V.P. of loans that it was a cover up. No one ever called to talk directly with me to solve this problem.

23. On 2/16/99 and 5/16/99 I went back to talk to LaSalle. My bank rep said she will have someone call me. Nobody called.

24. On 7/14/99 I tried to talk to the attorney for LaSalle Bank Stein, to ask if she would hold my $98,000 life insurance policy. I have to get a loan to pay my bills and pay my employee. If she doesn't get paid, her insurance will stop, and she may die. This has caused me You have caused me great finance loss because of the $150,000 lump sum payment that you demanded. My physical and mental health is giving me great pain. I hold the law firm, LaSalle Bank, the holding company and M directly responsible.

25. On 7/16/99 I went to the Federal Reserve Bank and asked them to look into that Lasalle Bank withdrew all my money without informing me. They told me that they only oversee state banks. They sent my complaint to the Office of the Comptroller.

I was so worried about paying LaSalle that I stole $45,000 from my employees' stock account at Everen, which she trusted me with. She wanted me to invest her money, and I borrowed against her stock margin to pay bills for the company. My account representative, Mrs  M, told my employee,  to sign 5 forms which allowed me to borrow money from her account. I took out her money 5 or 6 times over a period from March to September 1998.

Mrs. M wrote C a letter in September, explaining what I had done. Even tough I was aware about what I was doing, G should have faxed C every time I took money from her account.

I am sick about what I have done, and much pay her back.

SUBJECT: Bank Error

In reply to your memo of January 16, 1998, I want to inform you that I have tied to comply with the wishes of your attorney by paying back a large lump sum of $150,000. Then your attorney told my former attorney to have me pay back $10.020.77 (with 9% interest). I tried to comply, but I can not pay back the total amount because I have no more money.

Since I am severely disabled, I was saving my money to be able to live on my own with hired help. Since you took all that I have, I must live out the rest of my life in a nursing home. I was one of the few disabled persons who had a chance at a "normal" life. Your errors have made my life (and others) almost unbearable. I will not stop until I have told how you have treated me and many people on this earth . Your attorney obtained a judgment against me. I will have this on my record as long as I live.

The letter from your attorney of July 31, 1998 suggests more action will be taken. I have no more attorney to help me because of the fees. Your employees have not even kept account of the money that I paid back. They will not show me detail records of what they withdrew and deposited in my account (without my knowledge). Other banks have told me that your actions are appalling.

I am asking your help in allowing me to pay back the current amount within a reasonable time. If your records are in error, then I hope you hire employees that know how to run a bank before you are allowed to buy other banks, and ruin more lives. I will hear what the IMF (and other governments) feel about your errors, and actions.
