Our goal is to serve our diverse groups of elderly and disabled American people by providing useful AHA Independent Living Products and Olmstead Approved Products so that they allow persons to live with dignity where they choose, in a community-based setting. Thereby allowing these groups of American citizens to continue to live fruitful lives. We work with President Bush, his administration, and leaders in the community to develop policies that will enhance the quality of life. HOW IS PRESIDENT BUSH AND AHA HELPING THE ELDERLY AND THE DISABLED?
|
| President Bush is leading the way in assuring that disabled and elderly Americans live in the best community setting by announcing the New Freedom Initiative on February 1, 2001, as part of a nationwide effort to remove barriers to community living for people with disabilities. The initiative's specific proposals that directly involve HHS include: promoting full access to community life through swift implementation of the Olmstead Supreme Court decision ; and the creation of a National Commission on Mental Health. on December 21, 2001, HHS presented President Bush with Delivering on the Promise: Preliminary Report of Federal Agencies' Actions to Eliminate Barriers and Promote Community Integration , thus allowing life, liberty and justice for all Americans.
Below are the projects being developed by AHA and its parent company, Universal Consultants, Inc. |

GOALS TO EMPLOYERS
We support the integration of Americans with disabilities into the workforce through swift implementation of the Ticket to Work and Work Incentives Improvement Act of 1999 (TWWIIA). Thus becoming useful members of society. We will work hard to bring the President's New Freedom Initiative. Especially the statement, "President George W. Bush believes that the Americans with Disabilities Act has been an integral component of the movement toward full integration of individuals with disabilities but recognizes that there is still much more to be done. He also recognizes that to further integrate individuals with disabilities into the workforce, more needs to be done to promote ADA compliance." |
