They are designed to perform at the maximum distance possible, given the transmission power guidelines established by the FCC. This means your Handset and Base Unit can communicate over an extended distance - which will depend on the location of the Base unit and Handset, weather, and the construction and layout of your home or office. Most conventional cordless telephones on the market were designed to work in the crowded 46/49 MHz frequency band, all competing for limited resources which are shared with low-band pagers, radio remote controls, two-way walkie-talkies and "baby monitors". AHA's cordless telephones transmit in the 900 MHz frequency range. Using these more efficient 900 MHz frequencies, the HT9111A performs at extended operating distances not possible in the 46/49 MHz band. Under ideal test conditions, 900 MHz Cordless Telephones can perform at a range of up to five times these conventional 46/49 MHz band cordless telephones. Based on extensive feedback from customers, we have established that our 900 MHz Cordless Telephones regularly perform at distances ranging from 2 to 5 times the conventional cordless range, which equates to 200 to 2,000 feet, depending on the operating environment.
